Description
As one of Britain's favourite TV chefs James Martin is rarely off our screens. Since hitting our screens in 1996, he's probably best known as the face of BBC2's highly successful Saturday Kitchen, the numerous appearances on Ready Steady Cook, his sumptuous desserts series Sweet Baby James and The Great British Village Show.
James fell in love with cooking at an early age, his father was catering manager at Castle Howard stately home in Yorkshire, so he was exposed to food at its' finest throughout his life.
He was discovered by Anthony Worral Thompson and worked in the kitchens of 190 Queensgate and dell'Ugo, then travelled around Trench chateaux, picking up the rustic streak to his cooking along the way. Upon his return to England he opened up the Hotel & Restaurant Du Vin in Winchester as Head Chef at the age of 21.
On CookwithChefs, he effortlessly manages to pull off the hard sell of demonstrating a series of fabulous recipes using canned food, excellent cooking solutions after a hard day's work, but without the guilt (and yuck factor) of ready meals. .
